Vasyl Gorbal, President Emeritus of UkrGasBank
The reputation and national valeur of UkrGasBank gained over the years make up a fruition of Bank’s professionals’ efforts. Mr. Vasyl Gorbal presided over the boardroom for five years in a row. His authority in business, public and political environment, as well as his professional and personal qualities secured Bank’s confident development. Over the last years UkrGasBank has been corroborating its status of a reliable and effective financial institution of national scope.
Indeed, during the 5 years with Mr. Gorbal at the helm, UkrGasBank turned from regional to a multi-branch bank, seriously contributing to the national economy.
The Bank’s activities rest on such priorities as quality, complex approach and availability of services both for the national producers and populace. During 1998-2000 the Bank adhered to its development strategy, pursuing the status of a niche bank for oil and gas industry. Over this time the Bank attracted a range of enterprises of crude and gas production, processing and transportation. Also, UkrGasBank became a key financial partner for the leading Ukrainian oil and gas company Naftogas Ukraine.
Since 2000 UkrGasBank morphed into a universal type of bank, promoting retail segment and opening some new branches. In 2001 it implemented the Eurocar project in the Transcarpathian specialized economic area. The Bank acted as the financial manager of the project and received the status of the authorized agent for work with investors.
Since April 2002 Mr. Vasyl Gorbal is President Emeritus of UkrGasBank and Member of Parliament and Central bank Council.
Social aid for the grassroots least socially protected has always been in the focus of charitable happenings spearheaded by Mr. Gorbal. Mr. Gorbal is of conviction that charity is not merely clemency, but also a facet of responsibility large businesses carry before the World War II veterans, pensioners, orphans and disabled people for the dire social relations.
