EBRD Recognizes UGB (Ukrgasbank) as the Most Active Issuing Bank in Ukraine for the Fifth Consecutive Year

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has, for the fifth consecutive year, honored Ukrgasbank (UGB) with the prestigious 'Most Active Issuing Bank in Ukraine' award under its Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP).

The award was presented to Ukrgasbank representatives in London during the EBRD's Annual Meeting and Business Forum, which honors the most successful partner banks of the Programme from around the world based on the results of 2024.

"This recognition is the result of our team's daily work aimed at supporting exports, critical imports, and Ukrainian production. We are grateful to the EBRD for their trust and partnership, which enables us to implement the most complex financial solutions for businesses even amidst current challenges. Each year, we strengthen our expertise in trade finance to support Ukrainian business and the economy," emphasized Rodion Morozov, Acting Chairperson of the Management Board of Ukrgasbank.

Ukrgasbank (UGB) has been an active participant in the EBRD's Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP) since 2019. In 2024 alone, with the support of the EBRD, Ukrgasbank implemented 70 trade finance deals totaling over 145 million euros.

Ukrgasbank's leadership in the market is also confirmed at the national level. According to the NBU, based on the results of 2024, Ukrgasbank ranked first among Ukrainian banks in terms of its trade finance portfolio – guarantees and letters of credit – with a total amount exceeding UAH 11.2 billion.

The consistently high results and the five-time recognition from the EBRD once again reaffirm UGB's pivotal role in the development of the Ukrainian economy and its support for businesses through the provision of effective trade finance instruments.
