Today is different. On 24 February 2022, Russia meanly launched a devastating attack on Ukraine by air, land and sea. Its forces are on the outskirts of our capital, Kyiv, and many other cities and towns. Some of them have fallen under their attack.
Russia’s missiles, tanks and troops attack our land, residential areas, kindergartens and hospitals, infrastructure facilities, including those that pose a technogenic threat if destroyed (Chornobyl nuclear power station has been taken under hostile army control) and many others. As of today, more than 350 civilians have been killed, of them 16 children, over 2000 have been wounded. The number of dead, wounded and displaced climbs.
Ukraine continues to put up a heroic fight. The entire population, not only the military, rose to combat against the invaders. They unite into civil territorial defense units, volunteers try to support the military, civil territorial defense units and refugees. Women, elderly people and teenagers do what they can to help those who fight – cook, knit disguise nets, mix self-made flammable cocktails, share their belongings for the defenders' needs.
Therefore, it is vital for the world to join efforts around Ukraine that is on the frontline of the aggression against Ukraine and the world as we know it. Another option is donating to the Come Back Alive (Povernys Zhyvym), one of the most accountable and trustworthy charities working for the military in Ukraine since 2014. The charity has been providing the military with auxiliary equipment, specialized software, drones, personal body protection, first aid kits, training, and other supplies ever since the foundation’s inception.
