Ukrgasbank Concludes Strategic Week at IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings: Driving Partnerships for Ukraine's Resilient Future
Concluding a pivotal week in Washington D.C., UKRGASBANK team, represented by Yana Buhrimova (Deputy Chairperson, Supervisory Board), Rodion Morozov (Acting CEO), and Volodymyr Ponomarov (First Deputy CEO, CFO), actively engaged in the 2025 Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group and associated high-level events, reinforcing our commitment to Ukraine's recovery and modernization.
This premier global gathering convenes finance ministers, central bank governors, private sector executives, and representatives from international financial institutions (IFIs) and development finance institutions (DFIs) to discuss the world's most pressing economic issues. Our participation underscores Ukrgasbank's commitment to integrating Ukraine into the global financial community and driving its sustainable recovery.
Throughout the week, our agenda centered on mobilizing resources and expertise for Ukraine:
- Strengthening Key Alliances: We held pivotal meetings focused on scaling up support for Ukraine's resilience and recovery with senior leadership and key operational teams at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
- Forging New Connections: We also engaged with numerous potential new partners to explore further avenues for collaboration. The central theme across all discussions was unwavering: How can we collectively enhance support for Ukraine's immediate needs and long-term reconstruction?
Beyond bilateral meetings, our delegation immersed itself in the core themes shaping the global financial landscape, attending sessions on:
- Global Economic Outlook & Financial Stability
- Climate Finance & Sustainable Development
- Financial Innovation (including Digital Assets)
- Supporting Economic Growth, particularly SME financing
These insights directly fuel our work and align with the urgent call to action from the Ukraine Innovation Days 2.0 (hosted by Ukraine House), which our team also attended alongside Ukrainian leadership including PM Denys Shmyhal, Ambassador Oksana Markarova, and NBU Governor Andrii Pyshnyy. The event emphasized the need to Reinvent, Innovate, and Leapfrog for Ukraine's victory and sustainable reconstruction, a mission Ukrgasbank fully supports.
Ukrgasbank is more committed than ever to leveraging international partnerships and financial expertise to build a strong, innovative, and prosperous Ukraine.
