Ukrgasbank (UGB) has issued the first loans with Danish guarantees and grant support from EIFO

Ukrgasbank (UGB) has begun cooperation with the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) and has already issued the first loans using the fund's guarantee mechanism. This is a landmark project for the bank and an important financing tool for Ukrainian communities.

New EIFO Program: Guarantee and Grant Support

EIFO — the Export Credit Agency of the Kingdom of Denmark — provides comprehensive support for municipal enterprises and municipalities, which includes:

• A grant component covering 40% of the equipment cost, which can be used for the down payment. Such a mechanism significantly reduces the financial burden on the final borrower.
• An export credit guarantee covering 50% of commercial and 50% of political risks for the loan provided by Ukrgasbank to the Ukrainian borrower.

Financing for Community Development

The loans were received by the Municipal Enterprise "Komunalnyk" of the Marhanets City Council and the Municipal Enterprise "Mistoservis" of the Chernivtsi City Council. The funds are directed towards the purchase of modern multifunctional City Ranger municipal vehicles with a set of attachments manufactured by the Danish company Egholm A/S.

Ukrgasbank (UGB) opened a non-revolving credit line with a preferential interest rate within the framework of the state program "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%".

"Ukrgasbank (UGB) continues to actively expand cooperation with International Financial Institutions and governments of partner countries. The use of comprehensive financing instruments, in particular export credit guarantees and grant programs, allows the bank to support critically important enterprises and contribute to the sustainable development of Ukrainian communities," — noted Oleksandr Reshetnik, Head of the Department of Municipalities and the Public Sector.
